The Cross was designed and built from the ground up at the Sig Sauer research and development facility in New Hampshire with input from hunters, military snipers and elite long-range shooters. Weighing in at 6.5 lbs the Cross is ideal for precision long range or extreme backcountry shooting. A 1-piece receiver allows for increased accuracy while a folding precision stock lets the user fine tune adjustments.
The SIG .277 Fury was developed for a military contract specifically Sig’s belt-fed machine gun entry. This cartridge offers more power while being lighter than comparable cartridges. The .277 Fury round with a 140-grain bullet allows for a velocity of 3,000 fps through a 16″ barrel, significantly more than a 6.5 Creedmoor round shot through the same barrel length. The casing is proprietary and is registered with SAAMI, this round also can be loaded in 7.62x51mm AICS magazines.
